In any decently sized city you’ll get multiple gay bars, each often having their own vibe. Some happens will be more like a place to sit and hang out and just drink with people. Others might have a central dance floor and thumping music, and some might be bars that cater heavily to specific sub-communities, like bears or athletes.

Gay bars are still places that can be transformed through the radical act of exercising our right to be there and exist! Time, activism, and what progress have made things easier for LGBTQS+ people to come together and celebrate one another in shared spaces. Queer parties are safe spaces for the LGBTQ community.
